Saint Paul's Episcopal Church
Mount Vernon, OhioFarm Week 2012
August 1-3 was memorable for both children and adults in Millwood, Ohio. Paint, mud, water, hiking, crafts, food, singing, lessons, friends, laughter, were all part of the mix! There are over 350 pictures available on a CD created by Ken Lipscomb in the church office if you would like to view, or borrow to print, more on-site happenings!
Church School Recognition Sunday
We closed out our Church School year with a chance to recognize all of the kids who participated this year, and all the parents who taught them. Special thanks to Lindsay Davis, who let the program. Here are some pictures.
Baptism, Confirmation, and Reception
On May 20th we baptized two new members of the church, confirmed three, and received two. Bishop Arthur Williams presided. Congratulations to Zach, Fredi, Nichole, Mary, Kati, Todd, and Sue.
Our Singing Children
The Sunday after Easter is traditionally a time for priests and choirs to take a breather. Fortunately, we have a wonderful Sunday School program at Saint Paul’s, and the kids agreed to step in and provide an anthem this past week as a favor to the exhausted adults.

Sunday Suppers
Every week, Saint Paul’s parishioners provide a free meal for unemployed and impoverished people in the Mount Vernon community. We organize the parish into volunteer teams, and each team takes one Sunday a month. The program has thrived thanks to the hard work of its coordinators, Robb Blaydes and Tom Bumpus. We’re always looking for volunteers, and always happy to have new people join in our fellowship.
Ash Wednesday
You’ll have two opportunities to observe Ash Wednesday at Saint Paul’s. For you early birds, there’s the 7:00 AM service. The regulars who attend Eucharist at 7:00 AM every Wednesday usually go out to the Southside Diner for breakfast afterwards, and you’ll be welcome to join them if you like. Then, at noon, we’ll have a second service of intinction of ashes. Both services will be held in the Baldwin Chapel in the Parish House. Harcourt Parish in Gambier will hold the evening Ash Wednesday service this year.
